App name: ZZZ GPS Simulator
This policy explains what information "ZZZ GPS Simulator" (the "App") handles and how it is used. Please read it before using the App.
1. Our Principles
The App respects your privacy to the fullest extent. Routes you create on the map, saved route data, and generated GPX files — all information handled by the App's core features — are processed and stored entirely on your device and are never sent to any server operated by us.
To display the map and snap routes to roads, the App communicates with external mapping services (OpenStreetMap / OSRM). To keep the App free, it also shows ads via Google AdMob; information required to serve ads (IP address, advertising ID, etc.) is sent to Google. See Section 6, "Third-Party Services" for details.
Using your device's "mock location app" feature, the App provides simulated location data to other apps on your device. This location data is generated and provided only on your device and is never sent to any server operated by us.
2. Information We Use
The App uses the following information primarily on your device.
2.1 Route Data (points and paths created on the map)
- The points (latitude/longitude), distance, speed, and route name of a route you create by tapping the map
- To obtain a road-following path, point coordinates may be sent to an external routing service (OSRM) (see Section 6.2)
- Route data is saved to a local database on your device only when you tap the "Save" button
- Saved routes and generated GPX files are stored only in the App's private internal storage and are deleted when the App is uninstalled
2.2 Device Location (current position)
- Only when you tap the "My location" button, the App obtains your current position from the device's location services, solely to center the map on that position
- The obtained position is only used in memory to display the map; it is neither stored nor sent to any server
- Features other than the "My location" button remain available even if you do not grant the location permission
2.3 Simulated (Mock) Location
- The App generates virtual location data that moves along the route you created
- If the App is selected as the "mock location app" in your device's developer options, the generated location is provided as the current position to other apps on your device
- This location data is generated and provided only on your device and is never sent to any server operated by us
3. Purpose of Use
The information above is used solely for the following purposes.
- Creating, displaying, and editing routes on the map
- Obtaining road-following paths (via an external routing service)
- Generating, saving, and sharing GPX files based on a specified speed
- Generating simulated location along a route and providing it to the device
- Centering the map on your current position via the "My location" button
4. Where Information Is Stored
All route data and GPX files created and saved by the App are stored only on your device.
- ✅ Stored in the App's private internal storage (local database and files)
- ❌ Not sent to any server operated by us
- ❌ No cloud backup
- ❌ No mechanism for the developer to access it
Data transmitted in connection with the mapping service, routing service, and Google AdMob described in Section 6 (IP address, point coordinates, advertising ID, etc.) is obtained and managed independently by each respective provider and is handled separately from the App's internal storage.
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
The App never independently provides or sells the following information to third parties.
- Saved route data
- Generated GPX files
- Your device's current location
- Your usage within the App
- Any personally identifiable information derived from the above
However, to provide features and serve ads, communication with the following external services occurs. These are processed by each provider as their own services, and the App cannot access the data they obtain.
- When fetching map tiles, your IP address and other data are sent to OpenStreetMap tile servers
- When snapping a route to roads, the coordinates of the route you created are sent to the routing service (OSRM)
- In connection with ad delivery, Google obtains your IP address, advertising ID, and similar data
6. Third-Party Services
The App may perform the following external communications.
6.1 OpenStreetMap (map tile display)
The App uses the OpenStreetMap tile service to display the map. As you view and scroll the map, the required map tiles are fetched from the tile servers.
- Data sent: IP address, the map area being viewed (tile coordinates), user agent, and other information required to fetch tiles
- Purpose: displaying map imagery
- Map data copyright: © OpenStreetMap contributors
- Handling: https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
6.2 OSRM (routing)
To snap a route you created onto a road-following path, the App may use the OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine) routing service.
- Data sent: the coordinates (latitude/longitude) of the points making up the route, and your IP address
- Data not sent: saved route data, route names, and other data stored on your device
- Purpose: snapping the entered points onto a road-network path
- This feature only communicates when you perform a routing action; providing the simulated location itself requires no communication
6.3 Google AdMob (advertising)
To keep the App free, it uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display banner and full-screen (interstitial) ads.
- Data sent: IP address, advertising ID (Android: AAID), device/OS information, ad impression and interaction data, and other information required for ad delivery by Google AdMob
- Data not sent: saved route data, GPX files, your device's current location, and other data stored on your device
- Purpose: ad delivery, display, frequency capping, performance measurement, and fraud prevention
- Data controller: Google LLC
- How Google handles information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads from your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
7. Permissions Requested
The App requests the following permissions.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Location (precise / approximate) | To center the map on your current position via the "My location" button. Used on-device only |
| Mock location (mock location app) | To provide simulated location as the current position to other apps on your device |
| Internet / Network state | Fetching map tiles, routing (OSRM), and ad delivery via Google AdMob |
| Foreground service (location) | To keep providing location in the background while a simulation is running |
| Notifications | To display the foreground-service notification indicating a simulation is running |
| Write to storage (Android 9 and below only) | Saving and sharing generated GPX files |
You can revoke these permissions at any time from your device settings. The App does not request microphone, camera, or contacts permissions.
8. What We Do Not Use
The App does not use any of the following.
- ❌ Analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.)
- ❌ Crash reporting (Crashlytics, etc.)
- ❌ User authentication / login
- ❌ Social media integration
- ❌ Any backend server operated by us
- ❌ Cloud storage of your location or route data
- ❌ Microphone, camera, or contacts
* Google AdMob is used for advertising (see Section 6.3).
9. Data Deletion
You can delete saved routes individually at any time from the route list within the App. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all data it created (saved routes, generated GPX files, cached map tiles, etc.) from your device.
10. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
11. Open Source and Attribution
The App uses the following open-source assets and services in accordance with their respective licenses and terms.
- Map data — © OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database License)
- Map display library — osmdroid (Apache License 2.0)
- Routing — OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine)
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be changed without prior notice. If there are significant changes, we will notify you together with an app update.
13. Contact
For inquiries regarding this policy, please contact us through the store page distributing the App.
