This policy explains what information the "ZZZ MDEditor" app (the "App") handles and how it is used. Please read it before using the App.
1. Basic Policy
The App is an editor for creating and organizing prompts for generative AI and other notes in Markdown, and managing them as tasks. The App respects your privacy to the fullest extent. The documents you create (Markdown files), tags, notes, and task information are all stored only on your device and are never sent to or stored on any server or cloud operated by us.
The App does not require account registration or login, and does not collect information that identifies you.
About advertising: To keep the App free, it may display ads through a third-party advertising network. Information necessary for ad delivery (such as your IP address and device/OS information) is sent to that advertising provider. On iOS 14 and later, the App displays the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) dialog, asking whether to allow use of the advertising identifier (IDFA) to optimize ads. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalized. See Section 6 for details.
2. Information Handled on Your Device
The App uses the following information solely for its document-creation and task-management features. All of it is processed on your device and is not sent to our servers.
2.1 Documents you create/edit and their metadata
- The body of the Markdown documents you create is saved as files within your device (the App's storage area)
- Metadata such as folder structure, titles, statuses, priorities, due dates, tags, notes, and related links (including [[WikiLink]]) is stored in a local database on your device
- These documents and metadata are never sent to or stored on the App operator's servers or the cloud
2.2 Task reminders (notifications)
- Reminder times you set on tasks are scheduled as local notifications on your device
- Scheduling and display of notifications are completed entirely on your device and are not sent to any external server
2.3 Display language (device language setting)
- The App refers to your device's language setting to determine the default display language. This information is used only on your device and is never sent or stored externally
3. Purpose of Use
The above information is used only for the following purposes.
- Creating, editing, previewing, and organizing Markdown documents (folder hierarchy, search, sorting, related-document display)
- Managing tasks (status, priority, due date, dependencies, and Kanban / agenda / calendar views)
- Notifying you on your device of task reminders at the times you set
- Sharing or exporting documents and task schedules in response to your explicit actions (see Section 6)
- Determining on-device whether a paid plan (subscription) is active, in order to hide ads and remove creation limits
4. Where Information Is Stored
The documents, metadata, and settings handled by the App are all handled solely within your device.
- ✅ Documents and metadata are stored in the App's storage area (on your device)
- ❌ No transmission to the App operator's servers
- ❌ No cloud upload, backup, or sync
- ❌ No mechanism for the developer to access your document contents
5. Provision to Third Parties
The App never independently provides or sells the documents you create, on-device data, or usage information to third parties.
However, in connection with delivering ads, a third-party advertising network (the advertising provider) obtains certain information (see Section 6). Even so, the documents you create and the data stored on your device are never sent for advertising purposes.
6. External Services and Sharing
6.1 Sharing / exporting documents and schedules (only on your action)
The App has sharing and export features that operate only when you initiate them. You choose the destination yourself.
- Share sheet: Passes a selected Markdown file to other apps via your device's standard sharing feature
- Calendar integration: Hands a task's schedule to your device's "add event" screen, or exports an iCalendar (.ics) file for sharing. The App does not read your device's calendar or contacts
6.2 Launching an external browser
From screens such as "App info," the App may launch an external browser to view this privacy policy and similar pages. This behaves like a normal link tap.
6.3 Fetching display fonts
The App uses fonts from an external font-delivery service for display. Fonts are fetched from that service's servers on first use and cached on your device thereafter. During this fetch, information such as your IP address is sent to that service to the extent necessary for the connection. Your document contents and on-device data are not sent.
6.4 Ad delivery (third-party advertising network)
To keep the App free, it may display ads through a third-party advertising network (the advertising provider). The following information is sent to that advertising provider for ad delivery.
- Information sent: IP address, device and OS information, ad impression and interaction data, and — if you grant ATT permission — the advertising identifier (IDFA), plus other information necessary for ad delivery
- Information not sent: the documents you create, your notes, task information, and other data stored on your device
- Purpose: ad delivery, display, frequency capping, performance measurement, and fraud prevention
- Controller: the third-party advertising network (the advertising provider)
On iOS 14 and later, the App displays the App Tracking Transparency permission dialog. If you allow it, personalized ads using the advertising identifier (IDFA) may be delivered; if you decline, ads are delivered as non-personalized (or limited to device information). You can change this choice at any time in your device settings.
6.5 Consent under local law
To comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and U.S. state privacy laws, users residing in the EEA, the UK, and regulated U.S. states may be shown a consent screen provided by the third-party advertising network. Delivered ads are in principle non-personalized. Your choice is recorded on your device and reflected in ad delivery. It is not shown to users outside the applicable regions.
6.6 In-app purchases (subscription)
The App offers a paid plan, "Pro" (a monthly, auto-renewing subscription), that hides ads and removes creation limits. Purchases, billing, and payment details (such as card numbers) are handled by the App Store; we do not receive or store your payment information. Your purchase status (whether Pro is active) is recorded only on your device and is not sent to our servers. You can manage or cancel the subscription anytime in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
7. Permissions Required
The App may request the following permissions to provide its features.

Permissions such as notifications can be revoked at any time from your device settings.
8. What the App Does Not Use
The App does not use any of the following.
- ❌ Analytics tools
- ❌ External transmission of crash reports
- ❌ User authentication / login
- ❌ Social media integration
- ❌ A backend server operated by the App operator
- ❌ Cloud upload or sync of documents
- ❌ Continuous or background location tracking

9. Deleting Your Data
You can delete documents and folders you created at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App removes the data in the App's storage area (documents, metadata, and settings) from your device. Files you exported to other apps or destinations via the sharing/export features should be managed and deleted at those destinations.
10. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may change without notice. In particular, it may be updated as advertising is introduced or features are added. When there is a significant change, we will notify you together with an app update.
